Rome is a living laboratory for exploring architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, building technology, and urban planning. Studying the city’s morphology from the time of the Caesars to the modern MAXXI museum offers lessons on the built environment. This immersion imbues in future designers, engineers, and builders the understanding of sustainable development.
To explore the built environment from a holistic perspective through site visits, seminars, and a sustainable project design assignment. Graduates of this program have been accepted into top undergraduate architecture programs..
Site trips in Rome initiate learning about the urban response from ancient times to modern times from the Foro Romano to the Museo MAXXI.
The Center’s holistic approach to the built environment includes an exploration into the region’s landscape and topography as well as that of historically significant garden design.
From ancient aqueducts to modern mass transit, from ancient baths to modern infrastructure students will learn about city services and the effects of urban planning and design on the built fabric of the city.
